Hauppauge HD PVR2 Gaming Edition records Nintendo Wii U game play on a PC in 1080p HD

London, United Kingdom - 12 December, 2012 - Hauppauge, a worldwide leader in developing and manufacturing PC based TV tuners and data broadcast receiver products, today announced game capture compatibility with the Wii U, the first High Definition console from Nintendo.

The Wii U can be easily connected to the HD PVR2 via the supplied HDMI cable. Game play can then be captured and recorded whilst gamers are playing on a TV monitor in 1080p High Definition with no ‘delay pass-through.

All recording made by the HD PVR2 are in H.264, the video format used to make HD Blu-ray discs so recording are of the highest quality and the perfect way to showcase performance.

The HD PVR2 is supplied with ArcSoft Showbiz software featuring record and You Tube upload buttons so video can be quickly and easily uploaded directly to You Tube.

Installing the HD PVR 2

Step 1:  Boot into Windows on your PC

HD PVR 2 works with laptops or desktop PCs with Windows 8, 7, Vista and Windows XP. 

Step 2: Plug the power supply into HD PVR 2

After your PC has booted to Windows, plug the supplied Power Supply into the Power input on HD PVR 2. The power supply is 6VDC@ 1.66amps.

Step 3: USB connection

Plug one end (the square end) of the supplied USB cable into the HD PVR 2's USB cable connector. HD PVR 2 is compatible with USB 2.0 (high speed) only. Plug the other end into your PC. 

Step 4: Connect the HD PVR 2 cables

Connection to your TV set or monitor

Connect the HDMI output from the HD PVR 2 to the HDMI input on your TV set.

Note:  your HD PVR 2 needs to be powered on for Pass-through Video Output to operate. Also, ShowBiz needs to have set the Video in source correctly for pass-through to operate. If you are having pass-through problems, please see the Troubleshooting section.

Connect your Nintendo Wii U to HD PVR 2

If you are using a Nintendo Wii U, plug the HDMI cable (supplied) into the HDMI out of your Nintendo Wii U and into the HDMI in on the HD PVR 2.
