Panasonic is pleased to announce that it will launch the world’s first free angle HDMI Cable, compliant with Ver. 1.3a high data transfer speed specification. The 1.5m and 3.0m HDMI Cables will be available from August 2008.

The HDMI Cable has already been adopted by a wide range of digital devices, including flat panel display DVD/ Blu-ray recorder, digital still cameras, video cameras, home theatre system and others. With the market trend for extremely flat panel displays, there is a growing need for cables with a free angle plug.

As television displays are getting thinner and lighter the trend is moving towards hanging them on the wall. However with the current HDMI cables, 7 to 9cm of space may be needed behind the panel, between the wall to connect the HDMI cable, causing limitations for easy installation.
The new Panasonic Free Angle HDMI Cable has flexibility of 180 degrees and thanks to the unique construction the required space for the connection can be minimized to 3cm.

With the release of the New Free Angle HDMI Cable, Panasonic is providing an easy solution for flat display panel installation.

All Panasonic HDMI Cables including the New Free Angle HDMI Cables currently sold in Europe are complied with Specification Ver.1.3a which assures 1080p HD playing with high speed data transfer rate of up to 10.2Gbps.

Panasonic remains committed to playing a leading role in the development of both HDMI enabled devices and HDMI Cables.
