Orange is the first UK mobile operator to publish its tariffs for Apple's latest smartphone - the iPhone 4. As ever it's a pretty substantial investment but that's unlikely to dampen sales.
If you want to get a 16GB one for ‘free' you have to sign up to a £75 per month, two year deal. You still have to fork out an additional £29 up-front, on top of committing to £1,800, if you want a 32GB one.
On top of that, Orange is still calling its mobile data offering ‘unlimited' despite clearly capping it at 750MB per month and you have to pay extra for tethering, unless you're on the £75 tariff, and then it's still capped at 3GB.
A possibly better deal is to be had if you pay-as-you-go. Orange is offering the handsets for £19 less than Apple is directly, and you get some mobile data and Wi-Fi thrown in. There are much healthier rates available to business too, as you can see from the screenshots below.
We're not aware of any other operators having gone public with their tariffs at time of writing, although if the Vodafone leak is accurate, it will be considerably cheaper than Orange. As expected, Tesco Mobile has confirmed it too will be flogging the iPhone 4, but there's been nothing from Virgin Mobile yet.
