Almost two weeks ago HEXUS reported the appearance of a new Sony netbook on the virtual shelves of Tesco's website. Today us lesser mortals get a look at it as Sony has officially launched the Sony VAIO M series, which it is pointedly calling a mini-notebook, rather than a netbook.
As expected, it's running the latest generation Pineview Atom CPU - the N450 - and Sony has chosen not to supplement the integrated GMA 3150 graphics. At first glance, there's nothing in the spec to differentiate the M series from the many other Pineview netbook offerings, so you would probably buy this if you are a fan of the Sony look, feel and brand.
Sony says the VAIO M series will be available from the end of this month. It's not offering price guidance, but we expect £299 to be the norm. It comes in black or white.
Here's a spec table and some piccies.
