The world's most popular search engine has today launched a new-look homepage at Google.com.
See the difference? The change, in case you've missed it, is the initial removal of additional features. Users visiting the Google homepage will now first be presented with just the Google logo, a text box and Google's customary search buttons.
Links to the company's array of other features - including Gmail and Google Docs - will fade in when the user moves his/her mouse.
Google believes the minimalist approach gives the majority of users "just what they are looking for first and foremost".
For users wanting to access other Google services, "the fade in is an elegant solution that provides options to those who want them, but removes distractions for the user intent on searching," adds the company in a statement.
