Got there in the end

Almost four months after previous UK boss Julian Klein left the broadline distributor, Ingram Micro has appointed his replacement from within.

Matthew Sanderson will start as UK MD on 1 January 2010, having previously been senior director and GM of volume business and consumer for Ingram Micro in Australia. He will report into Johan Vandenbussche, who has been promoted to regional VP for the UK and Benelux, and who had been looking after the UK while Ingram searched for a permanent boss.

The reason the post had remained unfulled for so long appears to be that Pablo Suarez, who had been expected to leave his role heading up Ingram's Miami export group to take over the UK after Klein left, was poached by rival distie Bell Micro at the eleventh hour to head up their Latin American operations.

Not long before Klein jumped ship, Ingram also lost its EMEA boss Jay Forbes. He was replaced by Alain Maquet, who Vandenbussche now reports directly into. "We are very pleased to be welcoming Matt back to Europe and to his native England," said Maquet.
