Target Components has been appointed exclusive UK distributor by AMD graphics card manufacturer, VTX3D.
The distributor carries the entire VTX3D catalogue of graphics cards including the HD4540 and R7 low profile cards as well as the latest R9 Nano small form factor card that will fit into most standard micro-ATX and mini-ITX cases.
VTX3D launched in 2009 to focus on a streamlined AMD range that covers most requirements, from entry to mid-level gaming, to HTPCs and graphics-intensive applications such as video editing and design. Factory-overclocked cards are also available under the X-Edition moniker.
As a genuine AMD card manufacturer, VTX3D is also a favourite amongst system builders, thanks to higher margins compared with other brands. Simon Hogg, Target’s Head of Purchasing, explained, “VTX3D produces a really high-quality range of AMD cards, with all the bells-and-whistles like factory-overclocking and multiple monitor support, yet the opportunity with VTX3D is that the brand offers greater margins to resellers than higher-profile brands, for the same spec.”
He continued, “And when you’ve got the latest cards, like the R9 Nano that people are crying out for when other manufacturers are reporting little or no stock in the channel, it’s a great opportunity to prove just how good the brand actually is.”
VTX3D’s UK Sales Manager, Scott Fraser, also commented, “With Target’s commitment to offering resellers high-quality products with decent margins, VTX3D fits perfectly – we’ve got the same AMD range as other brands, yet resellers make decent margins, making for happy end-users AND happy resellers.”
The VTX3D range will also be included in Target’s In-Store PC Builder and Custom PC Builder configurators which allow resellers to design PCs from scratch, with all components pre-checked for compatibility.
Using these configurators allows the reseller to create almost any configuration of PC to their customers’ requirements and, with casual gaming rising in popularity; VTX3D’s range is likely to appeal to the reseller as a great-value offering.
