Target Components confirmed today that they have shaken hands on a distribution deal with the award winning mobile broadband provider 3, the country's biggest 3G and broadband network.
Mobile broadband allows users to access the internet anywhere at any time, without having to be in range of a wireless hub or hotspot, through a USB modem known as a dongle. Target will be supplying starter kits, a dongle that comes preloaded with 3 mobile broadband credit. A 12GB starter kit will offer typically 120 hours surf time, 12,000 emails, 384 X 4 minute music singles as well as 60 X 4 minute video clips, and remains valid for one year. Once the initial credits have been used up credit can be purchased 3G.
Kelly Burnley, purchasing manager for Target explained, "Mobile Broadband is something we have been looking at for sometime as it fits very well within our product portfolio so we were delighted when Hutchinson approached us. We have seen a massive growth in laptop and netbook sales and customers have been asking us for mobile broadband products for sometime"
As well as the starter kits the company will also be stocking wireless routers, which allow users to share the mobile broadband service. For the ultimate in mobile communication the starter kits can also be bundled with a laptops.
Target's Sales Director, Adrian Macklin is delighted with the deal and believes that the mobile broadband products will be a positive addition to the company's offer.
