Press release

Distributor Target Components today announced it plans to form a Customer Focus Group to further increase customers' involvement in the development of the distributor.

The group will involve 8 customers along with members of Target's senior management team and will meet bi-monthly to provide feedback, review development opportunities and discuss a range of channel and general business issues.

"Everyone we have mentioned it to so far has volunteered for the group, but we have to limit numbers due to space and practicalities." Explained Target MD Paul Cubbage.  "We are initially planning to have six regular members and two guests at each meeting, and are inviting applications from all interested parties before selecting customers that give us as broad a coverage of the channel as possible."

"We have always held the view that the most important opinion to our business is that of our customers, and we have developed and improved feedback systems, particularly over the last year or two, that have helped us to implement changes to better serve our customer base. This idea, in fact, was first mooted by a number of customers at our open day last summer, so it's a testament to the fact that our customers do have a positive influence on the way Target develops."

Cubbage insists that the intention is not simply to review Target proposals, but wants the group to be a general forum that can provide additional support to their customer base. "It's very much a two-way street. We are always looking for ways in which we can help our customers, and this extends to all areas. We have a broad range of customers throughout the channel, so we have built up a good degree of knowledge over the past eleven years, in terms of developing new business opportunities or overcoming challenges. The focus group will also be a means to share information and provide additional support wherever we can."

Cubbage also points out that applicants don't necessarily have to be Target customers. "Obviously our primary obligation is to our customers, but we may make the guest positions available on occasion to businesses that don't currently deal with Target if we believe they can add an interesting outside perspective."
