OS wars
Sometimes we just can't be bothered to read and would rather watch the telly instead. With that in mind we've switched the weekly round up of stories on HEXUS.channel to a five minute monologue from editor Scott Bicheno.
This week he focuses on the increasing number of battlegrounds in which the battle for operating system supremacy is fought. Apple appears to have conceded that security is an issue on Macs, while Microsoft is releasing its second service pack this year for Vista. Meanwhile Apple seems to be gaining the upper-hand over Microsoft in the smartphone OS market.
Elsewhere the economy continues to dominate the broader agenda, with the government announcing yet another massive interest rate cut. On the commercial side we're seeing a number of initiatives to encourage consumers to spend money this Christmas, with Fujitsu Siemens offering to give you a free new notebook every three years, forever, and Ebuyer extending the daily deadline for next-day delivery on orders from its site.
Anyway, having made you read three paragraphs in spite of what we said at the start, here's the telly bit. We hope you enjoy it.
