Conclusion

...extreme gaming performance from a £1,855 base unit that covers the essentials without paying too much attention to the finer details.

Gamers in the market for a base unit powered by a sixth-generation Intel CPU are going to be spoilt for choice as system integrators are quickly bringing their wares to retail, with prices typically ranging between £1,000 and £2,000.

Aiming toward the upper end of the scale, the Vibox Rapture Chaos MX1 partners an overclocked Core i5-6600K processor with 16GB of Patriot Viper DDR4 memory, a swift Samsung 850 SSD and a rip-roaring MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti graphics card.

The end result is extreme gaming performance from a £1,855 base unit that covers the essentials without paying too much attention to the finer details. This was always going to be a fast and capable machine, but given the fee, it lacks some of the niceties that we feel are needed to justify the price tag.

Better cable management, quieter fan profiles and a bigger SSD would all help the Rapture Chaos MX1 feel more like a premium product, but as it stands, Vibox has some work to do to match the best the competition has to offer.

The Good

The Bad
Extreme gaming from GTX 980 Ti
Skylake Core i5 guaranteed at 4.5GHz
Very good cooling performance
Two-year parts, lifetime labour

Non-expandable memory
Chassis an acquired taste
Should be quieter
Cabling could be tidier

That 1st picture of the inside shows a video card with a massive slant on it. Clearly need additional support.
I have the MSI 970 and it does the same. Even with an after market backplate. It is a worry.
That chassis is hideous.
ouch i would avoid that card like the plague then, that really doesnt impress me…

First thing that caught my eye, and it made me crinnnnnge!

There was a company that makes a sturdy support that's easy on the eyes, but I can't seem to find it…
