Conclusion

Pros

  • Very quiet
  • Accurate voltages
  • Great designs
  • Nice packaging
  • Affordable
  • SATA ready

Cons

  • NOT silent
  • No hard drive silent solution
  • Brief user manual

Conclusion

The FSP Silent-Solution Kit is certainly a very nice product. With great PSUs from leading companies such as Enermax and Antec, it leaves a small gap in the market for other manufacturers to fill in. FSP are climbing their way up the ladder trying to catch up with the big boys.

The FSP Silent-Solution Kit is certainly something I would personally buy. It's not exactly as silent as they claim it is, but it is definitely quieter than most products. When setup and manually set at the low speed position, the only hardware I could hear was the hard drive. I would have liked to have seen a hard drive silent-solution in this kit as well.

The PSU has been UL (Underwriter's Laboratories) approved which costs $10,000 per product model to certify. The testing process involves lots of meticulous testing to affirm quality and design. This goes to show that FSP are willing to pay that bit extra to ensure their products are of excellent quality and design.

surely anyone could buy a load of sub-20db fans and replace various fans (intake/exhaust/cpu/psu) with them and save themselves the cost of some new components, or just 7v other fans :)

anyhow, not a bad review, dont know whether i like the blueness, not sure that it would match with anything particularly, perhaps black or transparent would've been better choices, ah well each to their own.

would've been good if you could've compared the voltage rails using, for example, a 430w Antec PSU (or 550w Enermax) which would give a nice idea of how close the FSP psu is to the ideal values (independent of any errors or discrepancies in the motherboard monitors)

also where is a price? or am i being blind… a pro is ‘affordable’ but i didnt see a price :(
I'd like to see the fan and the HSF compared against another cooler and fan.

It's for sale at PC World. £59 i think
I saw a box with silent solution kit on it PC world. I was wondering what it was. I suppose its cheap for what you are getting assuming it works.
Anyone know where you can get this from online? I need to quiten down my PC. It currently sounds like the deck of the HMS Invincible whilst a Harrier is taking off!

Also, how does this compare to the Hush PC kit at www.quietpc.com coz it's £99?
