Conclusions

Performance Conclusion

Performance wasn't exciting against the test systems but it was strong, you just have to take it into context.

With some small victories over 2.4B and SiS645DX, it didn't show itself up. For the intended users of this board, they can be assured that performance was there and exactly where it should be.

Even if performance was slightly slower, it would be acceptable for the target audience so that's worth bearing in mind. This board isn't targetted at the high end performance user, more the budget box builder that needs a general purpose PC and that's entirely refreshing.

Onto the board as a whole.

Overall Conclusion

I really enjoyed testing this board. I was after a break from the norm and the Leadtek popped up at exactly the right time. I'm a fan of all kinds of computer systems and while it's nice to look at the high end of the spectrum, I enjoy dropping back down a notch or two and seeing what surprises lie in store for the users a few rungs down the ladder.

Leadtek have put together a solid board with just the right amount of features and expansion based around a nice integrated chipset from SiS, maybe my favourite chipset maker this past few months.

My only criticism can be aimed at the bundle. I wanted to see more USB ports and a nice software bundle to round things off but for the price I can't complain.

A solid little budget board for the price concious user with good performance and nice expansion. One to consider.
