Conclusion

...2.5G Ethernet and WiFi, above average cooling, a fast, intuitive BIOS, and performance about as good as X570 gets.

The X570 chipset will remain AMD's preferred premium mainstream solution for a while yet. That's enough reason for manufacturers to build multiple boards addressing a wide range of price points and features.

ASRock looks to effectively tread a middle ground with the X570 PG Velocita. There's plenty of good at the mooted £240 price point, including a 14-phase supply, 2.5G Ethernet and WiFi, above average cooling, a fast, intuitive BIOS, and performance about as good as X570 gets.

That's not to say it's perfect. We'd like a third M.2 slot, especially if using the Thunderbolt connector, 20Gbps USB certainly wouldn't go amiss, and we'd prefer ASRock to tone down the aesthetics some. Then there's competition such as the MSI MAG X570 Tomahawk WiFi, which offers ostensibly the same level of features for £40 less. Choices, choices.

Overall, though, at the price point, we look upon the X570 PG Velocita favourably as the good outweighs the bad. Certainly one to put on a shortlist for that next Ryzen 5000 Series build.

The Good

The Bad
Excellent power supply
2.5G Ethernet
Slick BIOS
Top-notch performance
Good temps all round

No USB 3.2 Gen 2x2
Would prefer third M.2 slot

Great spec and good figures but was it designed by someone that was colour blind?

Would be very interested in this without the wifi and a better colour sceme.
Not a fan of active cooled chipsets, at least not if the fan are a screamer like little fans use to be in the old days.
Also not interested in wifi, i mean come on
A good question, which one should I chose?!? they are pretty much identical.
If I can say, pretty well done writeup considering its a product with very little difference to its similar competition.
I stopped reading when you listed ‘Killer 2.5G ethernet’. That alone is enough to put this in the ‘avoid’ category.
