Conclusion
Asking for nearly double the entry price of a perfectly serviceable board means that MSI has to pull out far more stops. It was inevitable that MSI would produce a raft of well-rounded motherboards based on AMD's latest X470 chipset. Running from £115 through to £215 for today's review model, the Gaming M7 AC Wifi, there's something for most budgets.
Asking for nearly double the entry price of a perfectly serviceable board means that MSI has to pull out far more stops. Those stops include beefed-up circuitry, Wifi (albeit not using the latest chip), tie-up with Corsair's lighting, and a heavy-duty M.2 heatsink that appears to be the biggest and best around.
Enough for it to be worth £215 and about the same price as the recently reviewed Aorus? It's a case of swings and roundabouts, but our ultimate takeaway is that the Gaming M7 AC is a decent choice for those more interested in overclocking prowess than features.
Bottom line: a solid, high-end motherboard that won't disappoint prospective Ryzen purchasers.
