Hub, final thoughts and HEXUS.awards

The final item in the kit is a USB 1.1, 4-port hub. Compact is, of course, the name of the game.

Hub

Interestingly, there's a hole and apparent holes in the PCB for mounting a DC jack, yet, this hub takes its power from the laptop.

Hub

Like the mouse, a blue LED lights when the hub is powered up.

Other than that, nothing to report. The hub works exactly as it should, although USB 2.0 support would have been nice.

Thoughts

Perhaps the best word to sum up the Amacrox NB Kit is 'handy'. Individually, each component is useful, but nothing worth shouting about. However, combined into a neat, compact package, they become a useful set of accessories that you'll be pleased to include in your laptop bag. If you use your laptop a lot, but find yourself cursing the trackpad, running out of USB ports, straining your eyes in the dark, wishing you had a headset, or all of the above, you could do far worse than get his kit.
