Conclusion

...an 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, GeForce GTX 1060 graphics and a capable full-HD display ultimately deliver on the promise of smooth gameplay at 1080p...

The introduction of mainstream many-core processors has given consumers added incentive in considering an upgrade to an ageing PC. Laptop vendors are understandably keen to nab their slice of the pie, and all the big names are stepping up with new models touting the virtues of an 8th Gen Intel Core processor.

Offering something a little different to the norm, Scan Computers has selected a TongFang GK5CN6Z barebone chassis as the base for its new 3XS LG15 Vengeance Pro. It's always refreshing to see a system integrator attempt to stand out from the crowd, yet while the metal construction and thin profile are steps in the right direction, fan noise, mediocre battery life and an overly clicky keyboard detract from the package as a whole.

The TongFang is a decent-enough delivery mechanism and Scan uses it to present a well-rounded selection of modern components that fit the bill for a 15.6in gaming PC. The combination of an 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, GeForce GTX 1060 graphics and a capable full-HD display ultimately deliver on the promise of smooth gameplay at 1080p, but battery life needs to improve if the 3XS LG15 Vengeance Pro is to be a genuine contender.

That i7-8750H is an odd chip, it seems to be very sensitive to tuning by the device manufacturer. Comparing the Gigabyte and Scan implementations: Scan is a hair slower in pifast; 7% behind in cinebench; and 5% faster in handbrake. Perhaps the single stick of RAM is slowing the gigabyte one down in handbrake? That test looks more RAM sensitive, the quartet of 7700HQ laptops only show a clear performance difference in that test (with the single-channel lenovo laptop coming last)
i bought this Laptop to set up my online busnies at ***snip*** . no complain at all is so good very fast and trust full. Highli recomend. is only cost 1300 GBP
Seriously… Be AWARE of Scam's, sorry. Scan's re-stocking fee so hope that you don't have any issues. Buy from Amazon instead or someone else if you can help it. Twice bitten by then over the years.
