The Sapphire Radeon 2600 XT X2 1024MiB graphics card is, for all intents and purposes, two single-GPU 512MiB stitched together on to a single PCB. The advantage of such an individual card lies with excellent connectivity options from a board that takes up a single x16 PCIe slot, albeit with the adjacent one too. On the other hand, the disadvantage is that pre-CrossFired performance may not be as good as, say, a Radeon HD 2900 Pro or GeForce 8800 GTS 320's.
So who is this card for and can it be recommended? Considering that it's a limited-run product that'll be sold to OEMs rather than substantial numbers in the retail channel, we suppose that users who want decent gaming performance and high-end multi-monitor support should consider it. For most users, the architectural benefits imbued in the next generation up make for a more compelling choice.
An interesting product that's makes for curious interest rather than outright purchase, if you could buy it.
