Conclusion

TUF Gaming OC carries excellent build quality, great thermals, acceptable noise...

The GeForce RTX 30-series launch has been beset with problems mostly of Nvidia's making. A lack of preparation time has put partners on the back foot as stability issues surface to a greater degree than normal.

Asus, however, does a fine job in building cooling solutions capable of taming the 350W GPUs without undue noise and excellent temps. While the TUF Gaming OC is already a known quantity through our exposition of the RTX 3080 version, it makes just as much sense on the more powerful RTX 3090. We'd go so far as to say there's not much more Asus can do with what is its second-rung cooling solution for Nvidia's Ampere powerhouses. TUF Gaming OC carries excellent build quality, great thermals, acceptable noise, and, should one go by the RRP, is priced keenly.

Mostly outside of Asus' control for both RTX GPUs is a distinct lack of stock, and the issue doesn't appear to have a quick fix. With all that said and due knowledge this card is set to cost twice as much as the RTX 3080 bearing the same cooling, we'd go with the latter for 99 percent of enthusiasts. For the remaining one percent, the Asus GeForce RTX 3090 TUF Gaming OC certainly ought to be on your money-no-object shortlist.

The Bad

Which matter a lot if you pay the same kwh price as Danes do. ( which is insane, the price and the people )

Is the Gaming TUF OC of the 3090 ilk worth twice as much as the 3080 when it's 10 percent faster. You decide.
IMHO, absolutely not.
The Civ 6 benchmarks have duplicate 1080p screens and skip 1440p.
I think this is the first halo card that I would ever consider an absolutely stupid purchase for gaming. Previously, even for the ridiculous money, they would offer at least a tangible increase in performance over the next model down, but 10'ish performance for twice the money ? Buying this for gaming should come with a free slap.
Look, when we said we wanted 4K gaming, that wasn't referring to the price.

Think Nvidia got the wrong end of the stick.
