--- Thermal Performance, Conclusion and Certification

Thermal Performance

An idle temperature of 50 degrees for the NT-06 put it down at 23rd.

That's surprisingly poor going given the market it's supposed to be aimed at and designed to satisfy.

Under load things did improve, though, with the NT-06 coming in 18th. But that's still disappointing and SilverStone won't feel like boasting about the fact that it managed to leapfrog one of the passively-cooled candidates.

Conclusion

[advert]What we have here is a cooler that promised a great deal but, to our surprise, failed to deliver where it really counts.

We were also left unimpressed by the mounting system. It wasn't easy to work with on our Intel test board and took a long while for us to get installed.

However, the NT-06 does achieve certification, because it does do what 's claimed, in the sense that it actually goes some way towards cooling the CPU, unlike its stable-mate, the NT-01.
