--- Mounting System and Fitment Time

Mounting System

As with the NT-01, the NT-06 uses a padded back plate, so motherboard removal is unavoidable. Also like the NT-01, four bolts pass up from the underside, each secured with a washer and nut.

Once thermal paste has been applied, the cooler is placed on top of the CPU and secured using four screws that carry springs to give even compression when tightened.

[advert]The only issue we had when fitting the NT-06 was limited clearance near the motherboard slot. The unusually high heat-sink on the Intel board meant we had to be at our nimble-fingered best.

Fitment Time

The NT-06 pitched up mid-table in the time-to-fit category, with a figure of 441 seconds (7 minutes 21 seconds). That equated to 15th place – not bad considering the clearance issues we had on our Intel test motherboard.
