SilverStone Tek NT-06 - Introduction and Packaging

Introduction

The other SilverStone cooler under consideration is the NT-06. This is the newest addition to the Nitrogon range and was the star cooler on the company's stand at CeBIT 2007.

Although the NT-06 can be used without fans in a passive configuration we only tested it for active cooling.

The bold marketing claim for the NT-06 is that it's intend for use cooling the hottest CPUs in the world. The boast is that it's ideal for the Extreme Edition 3.46GHz CPU and higher. Big talk, indeed, so let's see if the claims stand up.

Packaging

A single cut-out window on the NT-06's packaging lets you see the heat-sink inside. The box is oversized and uses cut foam to protect the contents in transit.

The fan is located away from the heat-sink in a separate section of the box along with fan controls and mounting mechanisms.
