--- Thermal Performance, Conclusion and Certification

Thermal Performance

We didn't have a clue what sort of performance the Square would deliver. It didn't look anything out of the ordinary apart from its use of 8mm heat-pipes rather than 6mm like most coolers in this review. And that left us curious.

At idle, the Square's CPU reading of 45 degrees was bettered by 11 competitors, though the best of those were only four degrees cooler. Motherboard cooling was notable, peaking at only 34 degrees.

With CPU load, the Zaward started to slip a bit, coming in 14th. Even so, some other load-readings, notably for motherboard and power, were good compared to others in the review.

Conclusion

The unknown managed to put in a respectable performance in the thermal department. CPU results weren't so great but other reading made up for that. The cost of the Zaward is a bit of a concern, though. But, we realise that the company is fairly new to the UK and is very keen to improve its distribution, so increased competition between resellers could bring down the price.

It also needs to be said that the manuals were clear and concise and the packaging cleverly designed and convenient to use. Overall, our impression is that Zaward has delivered a pretty impressive package.
