Turns out Acer's mean-looking Predator system is meaner than we originally thought.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, around 215 of these high-end gaming machines have been recalled due to faulty insulation on internal wiring that can be stripped - consequently causing them to overheat and pose a burn hazard.
Only two incidents have been reported thus far, but the severity of them has prompted a quick decision to recall. According to Acer, two owners have reported short circuiting, melted internal components and heat damage to the fiery-looking chassis.
The model numbers recalled are ASG7200 and ASG7700. Owners are advised to stop using the system immediately and to contact Acer for further instructions.
