RAM manufacturer OCZ has put together its latest gaming RAM modules for DDR2. The new modules, available as PC2-4200 and PC2-5400 and available from 512MiB modules up to 2GiB dual channel kits, offer tight timings and feature OCZ's latest heat spreader, pictured below.

DDR2 FTW

Dr. Michael Schuette, VP of Technology Development at OCZ Technology has said that "By employing XTC heat spreaders on our premium Gold DDR2 GX memory we are able to offer high-end gamers and enthusiasts a superior solution that addresses the unique requirements of the latest 3D intensive titles."

To us, however, the heatsinks look a lot like a gimmick. However, it's performance that counts, and on paper OCZ looks to have a good offering, so let's hope they live up to the promise.

Get more details on the new RAM in OCZ's press release.
