Extreme performance memory and gaming peripherals specialist G.Skill has released some new super-fast memory modules as part of its Trident Z Neo series. Last month HEXUS reported on the release of the first G.Skill Trident Z Neo DDR4 RAM modules, which were optimised for the AMD Ryzen 3000 series CPU and X570 chipset platform. The newly validated RGB module kits push the memory clock speeds even higher, to DDR4-3800MHz CL14, and are available in 16GB (8GBx2) and 32GB (8GBx4) capacities.
The G.Skill Trident Z Neo DDR4-3800 CL14 RGB memory kits are built from select Samsung B-die memory chips. Running at 3800MHz, the kits offer great memory bandwidth and performance while maintaining the optimal AMD Infinity Fabric 1:1 ratio.
In the screenshot above you can see the new RAM modules tested running at DDR4-3800 CL14-16-16-36 in 8GB x2 capacity, along with the AMD Ryzen 9 3900X processor and the MSI MEG X570 GODLIKE motherboard. G.Skill notes that memory bandwidth of 58GB/s, 56GB/s, and 58GB/s was observed in testing for read, write, and copy, respectively.
G.Skill also shared stress testing evidence in the form of screenshots for both the 32GB (8GBx4) and 16GB (8GB x2) memory kits. Below I have reproduced the screenshots from the DDR4-3800 CL14-16-16-36 32GB (8GB x4) kit running on a Asus RoG Crosshair VIII Formula motherboard with the AMD Ryzen 5 3600X processor.
We don't have pricing for the new 3,800MHz kits but the previously fastest G.Skill Trident Z Neo series 16GB (8GB x2) and 32GB (8GB x4) memory kits (3,600MHz) are currently available in the UK for around £125 and £245, respectively. You will probably be paying a premium on those prices, of course, when the 3,800MHz kits start showing up at retailers and etailers.
