ASUS has a number of impressive monitors on display. One that especially caught the eye (and ear!) was the 22in widescreen PG221.
It supports all the usual inputs, of course (including component, S-video, DVI and HD15) but look around the back and you'll find a built-in subwoofer!
Even with the background noise present at a busy CeBIT stand, we could tell that it made a difference. Okay, it's not a replacement for a full-on sound system but it's a useful feature nonetheless.
Adding to the bling factor, the PG221 also has touch-sensitive control panel on the front, accompanied by a pink light strip just below the screen, which was nice.
But, ignoring the pink strip-light for now, the real question is whether a monitor stand is the right place for a sub-woofer - and what happens to it if you decide to bung the screen on a VESA mounting arm?
Your comments are welcome, over in the CeBIT 2007 forum.
