MMD has announced a new 40-inch Philips monitor. The Philips BDM4065UC offers users a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels in a sleek monitor with slim bezels. The company says that its 40-inch 4K Ultra HD display will provide a productivity-enhancing sense of space for computer users.
"This new UltraClear UHD display is an exciting addition to the 4K line-up and sizes up the viewing experience at 4K level. With the clarity and brilliance of 4K UHD and 40 inches of screen real estate to play with, users will really notice the sense of space and precision detail in everything they do - from complex financial applications and scientific imaging to gaming or streaming movies," said Thomas Schade, Vice President EMEA at MMD .
Highlights of the monitor, according to Philips, are the following:
- Expansive 40-inch class brilliant display
- UltraClear 4K UHD (3840x2160) resolution for precision
- VA display gives awesome images with wide viewing angle
- MultiView enables active dual connect and view at same time
- SmartImage presets for easy optimized image settings
- LED Technology ensures low power and natural colours
- Slim bezel design for a stylish look
- Powerful 7-Watt speakers to unleash your content
- USB 3.0 Hub (4 ports) for convenient access and fast charging
- SmartConnect with DisplayPort, HDMI and VGA connections
- MHL technology for enjoying mobile content on big screen
- VESA mount allows for the perfect setup
Looking at some of the above implemented Philips technology - MultiView could be used for displaying screens from "multiple devices like PC and Notebook side-by-side simultaneously, making complex multi-tasking work a breeze," suggests Philips. Or alternatively you could watch the output from your set top TV box in part of the screen while you work/browse on another part of the screen. Picture in Picture (PiP) is on offer (switching between two image sources) and Picture by Picture (PbP) is available (four devices/sources)
SmartImage offers display presets for various usage modes like office, movie and gaming. These presets can "dynamically optimise the contrast, colour saturation and sharpness of images and videos," says the firm. SmartConnect offers users inputs including VGA (Analog), DisplayPort, mini DisplayPort, HDMI (digital, HDCP) and MHL-HDMI (digital, HDCP).
MMD says that the 40-inch Philips Brilliance UHD BDM4065UC display is available now with a suggested retail price of £549.
