LG recently announced a trio of new Nano IPS technology monitors, including one with Nvidia G-Sync, which is destined for the PC gaming market. However, before those become available it has launched a new 27-inch gaming monitor based on more traditional display technology which offers a headline refresh rate of 240Hz, with AMD FreeSync compatibility.
The new LG 27GK750F-B is a 27-inch FHD monitor that uses an 8-bit TN display panel with 3H anti-glare coating. Capable of 16.7 million (8-bit) colour reproduction the panel has a 400cd/m2 typical brightness and 170°/160° viewing angles. The GtG response time is 2ms – but with LG’s Motion Blur Reduction (MBR) backlight strobing option activated this is reduced to 1ms. Unfortunately this choice doesn’t work with AMD FreeSync and lowers luminance – though some might prefer it depending on their hardware / particular game choice.
As one of LG’s gaming monitors, there are a number of 'gamer features' included such as Black Stabiliser colour equalisation settings, settings designed for various game modes such as FPS and RTS, and custom on-screen crosshair overlays.
LG offers a selection of modern connectivity options (1x DisplayPort 1.2a and 2x HDMI 2.0 inputs), a dual-port USB 3.0 hub with quick charging, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It has a decent adjustable stand offering -5º to 15º tilt, -20º to +20º swivel, 0º to 90º pivot, and 110mm height adjustments. However, you can’t swap out the supplied stand for a VESA mount, it isn’t compatible. Download the full spec sheet here (PDF).
The RRP of the LG 27GK750F-B is $549.99 but you will have to wait until early next year for widespread retail availability.
