Notebook manufacturer Uniwill is to merge with motherboard manufacturer ECS Elitegroup.
According to an announcement from Uniwill management, the merger will help make both companies more economical along with increasing RD resources and production capacity. The mergine process will involve a swap of two Uniwill shares for one ECS share, according to DigiTimes. Uniwill management has said that while the board has approved the move, it is pending the approval of a shareholder meeting which will be held next month.
The organisational structure of Uniwill doesn't look set to change a great deal, with Uniwill's President and its Vice Chairman assuming roles of general manager of the notebook business unit and overseer of the merged companies' notebook business.
