Apple's eagerly-anticipated iPad doesn't reach European stores until late April, but whilst there's no official confirmation of pricing from Apple itself, one UK retailer may have spilt the beans.
According to Google's product search, Play.com has the Apple iPad priced at £499.99, £599.99 and £699.99 for the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models, respectively.
The speculative pricing is in stark contrast to earlier rumours, in which Apple's iPad was said to be heading to UK stores priced at £389 for a 16GB model, £439 for a 32GB model and £489 for the highest-capacity 64GB model.
All current suggested prices are for Wi-Fi only models, with premium 3G-enabled units expected to follow at a later date.
Although the Play.com listings are the first real indication of UK price points for the iPad, the retailer may have simply inserted US pricing - confirmed at $499, $599 and $699 - as a placeholder for upcoming products, replacing the dollar sign for the pound sign.
Should the pricing prove to be accurate, however, UK consumers could be facing hugely inflated prices.
