At the launch of HP's ION-powered Mini 311 netbook last week, NVIDIA was on hand to tell us to expect more than 50 ION-based products before the end of the year.
With NVIDIA expected to launch an ION-led siege on the netbook market in preparation for the arrival of Microsoft's Windows 7 operating system, it's no surprise to see a few ION-powered netbooks slipping through the cracks. First up is ASUS' Eee PC 1201N.
The system, pictured above, has been listed by Chinese etailer PCPop and looks set to become the first Eee PC netbook powered by NVIDIA's GeForce 9400M-packing ION chipset.
Although anything but official, the etailer suggests that ASUS' system will feature a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, 2GB of DDR2 memory, 250GB of storage and a 12in display providing a 1,366x768 resolution. Elsewhere, you'll find Wireless N and Ethernet connectivity, HDMI out, a six-cell battery claiming 11 hours of use from a single charge and Microsoft's Windows 7 Home Premium operating system.
Given the choice of OS, we'd assume the Eee PC 1201N will land on or around October 22nd. No word on pricing or availability yet, but expect the Eee PC 1201N and a number of other ION-based systems to launch about a month from now.
