Are you one of those folk who like the idea of
netbooks but balk at paying well over £200 for a
decent-specification model?
You could always opt for something simple, such as the Acer
Aspire One, priced at around £199.99, but even that
may be a stretch.
Going cheaper, we'll readily admit that the ASUS PC 701 isn't at the
cutting edge of current netbook design, featuring a 7in (800x480)
screen, Intel Celeron-M ULV 900MHz processor, 802.11b/g WiFi, 512MB
RAM, 4GB SSD storage, and Linux OS, but its sub-1kg weight and keen
price makes it attractive to users wanting an Internet-browsing device.
However, today, between
11am and 4pm, eXpansys
will be selling a limited quantity of ASUS Eee PC 701 Surf 'netbooks'
for rather tasty prices.
The Eee PC 701 Surf (white) will be available for £117.99,
including VAT and the black-coloured model for £139.99.
Delivery is £7.95, plus VAT, however.
The offer originally extended to email subscribers, but scrabbling
around, there seems to be no restriction, other than the limit of two
per customer.
