Dual-core X2 in a Clevo D900
Dual-core X2 in a Clevo D900
When AMD set loose the Athlon 64 X2 processor with dual cores, SSE3 and other tweaks, one of the things I pondered was whether small form factor or notebook PCs would be happy handling the 110W TDP the X2 has. I should have feared not, since last night at an ATI partner's party they showed the Shuttle XPC ST20G5 running an X2, and today I spotted a Clevo D900 notebook chassis doing the same.
Now while I'm no great fan of the D900, with an X2 under the hood and it paired up with a RAID array of disks that the D900 is capable of taking, along with the Quadro FX 1400 option, I can start and see the appeal. SMP in little spaces is good.
