Pushed to the back of the queue with all of the MWC goodness taking up prime time, AMD's roadmap for the first three quarters of 2012 had recently been revealed by DonanimHaber.

The leaked roadmap shows that we can expect AMD's much awaited 'Trinity' cores to land in the second quarter of this year. As a reminder, Trinity is a combination of the firm's upcoming 'Piledriver' CPU cores, a replacement/enhancement over the current Bulldozer offering and a 7xxx series Graphics Core Next-based GPU.

AMD 2012 Roadmap

Whilst Trinity will not be aiming for the high-end processing market with only a 2-4 core configuration, it's bound to pack a punch with its enhanced core design and clock speeds expected to reach 3.8GHz initially, with suggestions that the architecture can reach 4GHz+. It's been hinted that Trinity will offer approximately twice the performance in the same power envelope as current AMD APU offerings.

It also appears as though the third quarter will finally see a significant introduction to the performance desktop CPU line-up, with the Piledriver-based FX-8350 making an appearance. It will be good to see the firm finally pushing forwards in the processor department as opposed to just the graphics segment.

They have pushed, just not successfully. Hopefully piledriver will change that but then again, thats what was hoped about BD so…

I'm still on my 1090T, barely any reason to move to Bulldozer! That was AMD's biggest mistake me thinks.
955 @4.2 for me… might have another go at pushing it further. I have had it running higher just havent got it stable. Assuming there is no MB complications i might take the jump to PD when its released, cant be worse than bulldozer can it?…
