ASUS Latest Desktop Barebone System Packs Computing Performance, Networking Convenience, Multimedia Support and Digital Entertainment

BUCKINGHAMSHIRE - 15th September, 2003 - ASUSTeK Computer Inc. (ASUS), a worldwide leader of high-performance computer systems, today unveiled the ASUS DiGiMatrix, an all-new desktop barebone systems (IA) that delivers excellent computing performance, networking features, multimedia support and digital home entertainment.

For Couch Potatoes and Movie Buffs
Sit back, relax and enjoy the shows. With support for 15-pin D-sub analog VGA, S-Video/HDTV output and DVI output, the DiGiMatrix enables direct connection to LCDs, projectors and plasma tube televisions. The built-in mini-TV PCI card further provides convenient functions such as program recording, Time Shift, still video capture and more. And the best is that all the applications mentioned can be accessed and operated with a remote controller while lying comfortably on the couch.

Listen Up!
The DiGiMatrix is a stereo as well as a radio. The Audio DJ feature, found exclusively on ASUS solutions, allows you to listen to CDs, MP3 and radio without entering OS. On the front bezel, a control knob quickly adjusts volume level while a mini LED display indicates music tracks and radio frequencies. With S/PDIF digital output and 6-channel audio, it delivers great sound quality to enhance your home entertainment experience.

Multimedia Experience
The rise of digital cameras, PDAs and MP3 players spurred the development of various memory cards. Equipped with a built-in card reader compatible to MMC, Memory Stick, SD and SmartMedia and Type II Compact Flash, the DiGiMatrix provides easy data transfer with peripherals without extra cables and add-on devices.

To Wire or Not to Wire?
The DiGiMatrix is ready for both wired and wireless networking. It is compatible with Gigabit LAN, 10/100Mbps Ethernet and IEEE 802.11b wireless standard for a complete networking solution. Teamed up with xDSL and cable modems, it also acts as a gateway to share Internet access with other devices via wired and wireless connection.

When Elegance Meets Performance
The DiGiMatrix is one-sixth the size of traditional desktop PCs and comes in a stylish design that fits elegantly in your living room. Based on the ASUS P4SQ motherboard and supporting Intel's Socket 478 processor with 533MHz FSB (front side bus) and DDR 333 memory, the DiGiMatrix delivers outstanding performance and stability.

SSHHHH.It's Quiet
Operating at 30dB, much quieter than the 50dB of typical desktop PCs, the DiGiMatrix is quiet enough to be left turned on all day, distraction from a noisy system is a thing of the past.

User Friendly
Microsoft's Windows XP Home Edition and ASUS' Home Theater software combine for a user-friendly platform. With the remote control, users can relax on the couch while surfing channels or the Internet. Optional wireless keyboards and wireless mouse further provide a wide range of convenient input devices.
