PRESS RELEASE

Remote support with iOS just got clearer with added support for the Retina display of the new iPad; Improved usability with growing number of iPad users

London, 12th June 2012 - TeamViewer®, one of the world's most popular providers of remote control and online meetings software, today announced an update to the TeamViewer for Remote Control iOS app.

The TeamViewer for Remote Control iOS app allows users to remotely access any Mac, PC or Linux computer from anywhere using their iPhone, iPod touch or iPad. Business and private users can easily provide support for a family member or client and can access documents, photos, applications and other information stored on the remote computer.

The update improves on the current remote access iOS app with new advances including:

  • Added support for the Retina display of the new iPad
  • Usability improvements
  • Redesign on tablet computers allows for landscape mode
  • Improved multitasking capabilities let users perform other tasks such as checking their calendar without ending the remote access session
  • "Send as e-mail" function allows for easier sharing of data such as photos and music. Files can be attached to e-mails directly from within the TeamViewer app

The TeamViewer for Remote Control iOS app makes it easy with gestures like left click, right click, drag & drop, scroll wheel, zoom and change monitor. Other popular features include the ability to reboot the remote computer and adjust the screen resolution.

"A growing number of our customers are using tablets, especially for businesses where tablets are increasing efficiencies - from providing travelling sales professionals instant access to their company data and applications, to giving IT support workers the ability to provide assistance from anywhere they are," said Holger Felgner, General Manager at TeamViewer. "The improved TeamViewer App for Remote Control exemplifies this trend by making instant access for iPad owners easier and more convenient than ever before."

As with all TeamViewer solutions, every communication between the viewer and the viewed computer or computers is encrypted with AES 256-bit encoding, providing the highest security standard.

Availability

TeamViewer for Remote Control for iOS is available now directly from the iTunes app store.

For private users, the app is free of charge. TeamViewer for Remote Control for iOS is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. iPhone and iPod touch require iOS 3.0 or later, iPad requires iOS 3.2 or later.
