In the blue LED open window design, Global WIN's Sapphire PSU series is following the demands of power users and case modders as well as the requests of an ultra quiet PC

Taipei, Taiwan, September 17th, 2003 – Global WIN, a leading specialist in thermal conductivity and heat dissipation, today announces the availability of its Sapphire power supplies, combining a blue LED open window design, two transparent 80mm fans and support for the "serial ATA" standard with a noise emission of only 19dBA.

The SAF series PSU with support for serial ATA has now been enhanced with an ultra silent running design and illumination effects in an open window housing, and will be available in 420 watt and 520 watt versions. The open window design Sapphire series power supplies are FCC & CE approved.

The new 19dBA Sapphire series power supplies feature a thermal controller, which adjusts the fan speed automatically to lower the noise disturbance when maximum electrical power is not required. To decrease noise disturbance the fan speed control can be connected to three additional fans such as those from the PC case, which will also be regulated simultaneously with the power supply fan, thus controlling air expulsion. Between the power case and the fans are fan washers, fixed to prevent vibration.

Furthermore the allowance of an extra 100 Watt for 60 seconds in peak load and an almost ideal high level PFC value of 0,989 give users an extremely high level of safety. The security package also includes OVP (Over Voltage Protection), OCP (Over Current Protection) and the SCP (Short Circuit Protection) on all six DC output rails.
