Linksys XAC1900 And XAC1200 Remove The Need For A Separate Modem Making Connecting Simple

Rushden, UK - January 29, 2015 - Linksys® today announced two new Dual Band smart routers for the UK market. Designed for those looking for a seamless connection and simplified home network, the  new Linksys AC1900 Dual-Band Smart Wi-Fi Modem Router (XAC1900) and Linksys AC1200 Dual-Band Smart Wi-Fi Modem Router (XAC1200) are the latest additions to the Linksys EA series line-up featuring a built-in DSL modem making it easy to connect to a DSL Internet service and enjoy fast, reliable Wi-Fi throughout the home without having to purchase an additional device.

These modem routers deliver next-generation Wireless-AC technology and dual-band speeds of up to 4.3x* faster than Wireless-N for the XAC1900 and up to 2.8x* faster for the XAC1200. The XAC1900 also comes with three adjustable, external antennas to optimise Wi-Fi signal throughout the home, providing improved signal strength in those tricky blind spots and allowing for more flexibility.

Designed to sustain multiple devices and users, the XAC1900 offers simultaneous dual-band speeds of up to N600Mbps (2.4GHz) + AC1300Mpbs (5GHz) making it great for households who game online, stream high-definition media or who are just looking for a quick web experience. It also features an upgraded CPU that delivers speeds of up to 800Mhz.

Ensuring smooth streaming and file sharing capability, the XAC1200 reaches speeds of up to N300Mbps (2.4GHz) + AC867Mbps (5GHz) perfect for fast downloads of large video or music files and quicker syncing. Both the XAC1200 and XAC1900 can act as traditional wireless routers by connecting the Ethernet port to a cable modem if needed.

"Our Linksys XAC1900 and XAC1200 are designed to provide a rich media experience for Internet users," said Mike Chen, vice president product management for Linksys. "With the built in DSL modem and many other features, these routers will make setting up much easier and we know UK consumers will make the most of all the added benefits they offer.. Often there is a forgetfulness that investing in a quality router can help increase download speed and also Wi-Fi signal in the home, so these products have been tailored to make it as seamless as possible."

Both the XAC1900 and XAC1200 feature Linksys Smart Wi-Fi software so users can manage their Wi-Fi access remotely by prioritising devices or websites, gain parental control over content, monitor network activity and create password-protected guest networks. A selection of apps also gives additional customisation possibilities such as prioritising the network for specific applications or gaming.

Taking home networking to the next level, the XAC1900 and XAC1200 integrates Advanced Beamforming Technology to help improve Wi-Fi reception by minimising signal interference, and users can expect a 10x faster experience for photos, video and data files with USB 3.0 transfer rates (compared to USB 2.0).

Performance depends upon many factors, conditions and variables, including products used, interference and other adverse conditions. Specifications are subject to change without notice.  An active, customer-purchased Internet Service Provider broadband account is required for connection of these routers and other connected computers and devices to the Internet.  Some devices may require additional wireless adapters or an Ethernet cable to connect to these routers.
