46 Industry Leading Sponsors

Microsoft, AMD, Ericsson and Micron join a
host of key industry partners to bring Total Connectivity to life at VTF2002 in
Taipei and Beijing in October

Taipei, Taiwan, 20 September
2002 - VIA Technologies, Inc, a leading innovator and developer of silicon chip
technologies and PC platform solutions, today announced that this year’s VTF
event will be bigger than ever before, with increased attendance and more
sponsors, with at least 45 companies confirming their support of VTF2002 being
held in Taipei and Beijing next month.

Moreover, the diversity of
supporting companies represented at VTF2002 is greater than ever, demonstrating
how technology convergence can bring together such diverse domains under one
roof. >From the traditional PC industry sectors such as DRAM memory to newer
fields such as mobile telecommunications, the breadth of technology being
explored at VTF2002 clearly underlines the emerging reality of Total
Connectivity.

Several companies return as
Diamond Sponsors of VTF2002, including such industry powerhouses as AMD, Maxtor
and DRAM manufacturers Micron and Infineon. Indeed, the memory makers remain
solid supporters of VTF, with Hynix and Elpida joined by Mosel Vitelic, Crucial
Technology and Kentron Technologies this year; as does the semiconductor
industry, in the form of ASE, Cypress, Silicon Applied Corp., FAE, SPIL and
Tektronix. Storage technologies too have an expanded presence this year, with
Maxtor joined by Marvell and Silicon Image.

Stalwart support for Taiwan’s
key technology forum is also provided by the distinguished motherboard
manufacturing community, with several among Abit, Albatron, Chaintech, Epox, FIC,
Gigabyte, Jetway, MicroStar, Soltek, Soyo and Tyan consolidating their presence
from previous years.

Newer fields of engagement
include the embedded market, represented by industry leaders such as Advantech,
Wyse, Axiom and Nexcom; along with the emerging wireless telecommunications
segment, from which Ericsson, Skyworks (formerly Conexant), Magnolia Broadband,
uNav, ParthusCeva and FarEasTone join VIA Telecom in presenting the way forward
in mobile communications.

Highlighting the key role
played by software in the new digital media world are industry leaders
Microsoft, Phoenix, InterVideo, Cyberlink and Gismosoft, with dedicated
applications across the Totally Connected spectrum of home, enterprise and
mobility.

Insightful market overviews and
analysis will be provided by leading industry analysts Jon Peddie, Bert McComas
and Kathleen Maher as well as key analysts from UBS Warburg, Morgan Stanley and
Credit Suisse First Boston.

“The quality and breadth of the
technology talks to be delivered at VTF this year looks set to further enhance
its reputation as one of the industry’s leading open forums,” said Richard
Brown, Director of Marketing at VIA Technologies, Inc. “We are delighted at the
number and diversity of leading companies supporting VTF2002, especially in
these uncertain times in our industry.”
