  • A range of display sizes and colours to meet different tastes
  • Latest APU platforms from AMD to handle every day computing
  • Thin & light 29.5cm (11.6") touch notebook for everybody with quad-core performance starting at €399

Bioggio, (Switzerland), May 23, 2013 - Acer today announced that the new Aspire V5 notebook series, recently presented in New York are now available with AMD Elite Mobility and Elite Quad-core A-Series accelerated processors and also unveiled the Aspire E1 notebook series equipped with the new generation of AMD Mainstream APU.

Aspire V5: Because One Size Doesn't Fit All

Based on lifestyle and performance needs, the Aspire V5 is offered in three display sizes: 39.6 cm (15.6"), 35.6 cm (14"), or 29.5 cm (11.6") and different colour options. All configurations are available with a choice of touch or non-touch screens. To make typing easier and more comfortable, the 39.6 cm (15.6"), 35.6 cm (14") V5 models include a full size keyboard with an 8% larger key cap area (15mm) than previous generation V5 notebooks, while the 29.5 cm (11.6") model integrates the same size keyboard as found on a typical 13.3" model to optimize the typing experience even when on the move.

There is an option of quad- or dual-core AMD A-Series accelerated processors for all models.

For crystal clear viewing, the new V5 notebooks are available with a high definition (1366x768) or full high-definition (1920 x 1080) display with IPS technology, providing an amazing vibrant and wide viewing angle. Selected models include AMD Radeon HD8750 discrete graphics, four speakers and are supported by Dolby Home Theatre for crystal clear cinematic surround sound with less distortion. For maximum convenience, the V5 models offer several connectivity options, including HDMI, USB 3.0 ports, SD card reader and optional Acer Converter, making it easy to connect to an external display, hard drive, and other device.

The smallest Aspire V5 model featuring a 29.5 cm (11.6") high-definition (1366 x 768) touch screen is ideal for anyone wanting an affordable thin and super light notebook to take wherever they go.

Just 1.38 kg and less than 20 mm thick, it is ideal for a frequent traveler, child or for student use.

Aspire E1: Daily computing with ease

The Aspire E1 notebook is available in two high-definition display sizes 39.6 cm (15.6") and 35.6 cm (14") to enjoy rich and crisp images when watching videos or pictures. And thanks to the HDMI port favourite movies can be displayed to the big screen.

Thinner than the previous models', the Aspire E1 series comes in a smooth Piano or Clarinet black, conveying a classy design and is one of the slimmest form factors within the segment of 39.6 cm (15.6") with built-in optical drive below €500. The chicklet keyboard provides comfortable typing, while the compact design makes these notebooks perfect to be carried wherever you go.
