Stunning video graphics and multimedia now available in new consumer notebook PCs

MUNICH, GERMANY - November 5, 2002 - ATI Technologies Inc. (TSX: ATY, NASDAQ: ATYT) today announced that the ATI RADEON* IGP 320M, the world's most robust and feature-rich integrated graphics processors for the mobile AMD Athlon* PC market, and RADEON* IGP 340M, the world's first integrated graphics processor for the Intel Pentium* 4 Processor-M market, have been selected by Packard Bell, the consumer division of NEC Computers International and Europe's home PC leader, for its new Packard Bell iGo 300 and iGo 6000, respectively. "ATI's RADEON IGP 320M and 340M will ensure that NEC Computers Internationa and Packard Bell continue their long-standing reputation of providing consumers with outstanding visual quality without compromise," said Peter Edinger, Vice President and Managing Director, ATI Technologies (Europe) GmbH. "The Packard Bell iGo 3000 and iGo 6000 notebook PCs are evidence that the industry is continuing to rapidly adopt ATI's award-winning RADEON IGP technology."
The RADEON IGP 320M uses a 64-bit system architecture, supports the latest DDR memory technology, and is the only integrated graphics family to include ATI's patented Fast Z-Clear technology that increases 3D rendering speed, as well as TV-out functionality.

The RADEON IGP 320M also incorporates a variety of award-winning RADEON* features including ATI's PIXEL TAPESTRY* and VIDEO IMMERSION* engines. PIXEL TAPESTRY allows RADEON IGP processors to create lifelike environments by combining the industry's fastest rendering engines with an unprecedented set of 3D special effects. The chip's ability to process up to three textures concurrently means unsurpassed performance in accelerating multi-textured game content. The VIDEO IMMERSION adaptive de-interlacing engine advances ATI's historic leadership in digital video and provides features like hardware motion compensation and iDCT (inverse discrete cosine transform)

The Packard Bell iGo 3000 notebook PC is equipped with an AMD Athlon XP1500 (up to 1900+) processor; 256 MB DDR (double data-rate) SDRAM (synchronous dynamic random access memory); a 20 GB (up to 40 GB) hard drive; a combo CD-R/RW with DVD-ROM; an IEEE 1394 port and a 14'' or 15'' TFT (thin-film transistor) screen.

The Packard Bell iGo 6000 notebook PC is powered by the Intel Celeron* 1.5GHz or Intel Pentium 4 Processor-M up to 1.8GHz, with 256 MB DDR SDRAM, a 20 MB (up to 40 GB) hard drive, a combo drive, an IEEE 1394 port and a 14" to 15" TFT screen. Both PC notebooks will be available to consumers beginning in November, 2002.
