ATI salutes Nintendo for continued game console success

MARKHAM, Ontario - October 30th, 2002 - ATI Technologies Inc. (TSX: ATY,
NASDAQ: ATYT) today announced that the 12 millionth ATI graphics processor 'Flipper' chip has been shipped for the NINTENDO GAMECUBE(tm) video game console. Manufactured by NEC Corporation, the ATI-designed 'Flipper' chip is the central graphics core of Nintendo's best-selling game console enabling software developers to create a wide variety of best-selling game titles for NINTENDO GAMECUBE.
