Earlier this week, SCi Entertainmenmt, the company responsible for the Conflict: Desert Storm games and the owner of UK publisher, Eidos confirmed that they have been approached for the second time this year with view to striking a deal for the takeover of the company. As a result, shares in the company have risen 25pc since talks began from 45.5 to 385p.

SCi said: "Following the recent speculation in the press, the board of SCi Entertainment confirms that is has received an approach and as a result has entered into extremely preliminary discussions regarding a possible offer for the company."

Speculation is rife as to which company SCi are currently in closed talks with, but UK newspaper The Guardian have suggested today that it's French company Ubisoft looking to strike the deal before other possible buyers, Warner Bros - who currently have a 10% stake in SCi, Electronic Arts or even Sony move in to scupper the deal and purchase the company for themselves.

SCi are currently valued at £332m.
