So what if there's adverts? It's FREE!

Right, this is one you're going to have to check out yourselves as I can;t find it on Ubisoft's website.

According to a mail that's dropped into my inbox, Ubisoft are releasing some of their older titles for free download, the kicker being that there's some adverts in there to support the revenue stream.

This pretty much follows the TV model of having ads in the breaks, though I don't reckon the game'll pause every fifteen minutes for Lara Croft to pop up and try and sell you Head and Shoulders (regardless of the fact she's an Eidos IP).

The games so far are, supposedly, Far Cry, Prince of Persia:Sands of Time and the more recent Rayman Raving Rabbids.

I've checked Ubi's site and can't find jack on this though so either I've just not had enough coffee and I blind or the service hasn't launched yet...

(free) FarCry was available on FilePlanet a while back
I downloaded Farcry with the ad support and you require a Ubisoft account (sign up on their website) which i already had, i enetered my details during the installation process and it said that the product was only available to US customers. So i went to my account and changed my location from UK to USA and hey presto it worked. Big download though, about 2.5GB
