According to The Sun newspaper, a cheeky Football Manager 2005 player applied for the manager’s job of Premiership team Middlesbrough, citing his success at Football Manager 2005 as a sign of his abilities!
Middlesbrough chairman Steve Gibson was looking for a replacement for new England boss Steve McClaren when he saw the letter from John Boileau.
The post-graduate student, 25, told how the skills he had honed on Football Manager 2005 made him the ideal choice.
John, of Rugby, Warwickshire, BOASTED how he signed Thierry Henry, Raul and Fernando Torres as boss of a fictional Doncaster team.
