Lucas Arts boss gets his knickers in a twist
LucasArt's boss Jim War is as sick as the rest of us when it comes to our favourite games being delayed. Personally, Ubisoft bug the hell out of me when it comes to delaying big named titles, most recently with Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, but War points out Electronic Arts as being one of the main offenders.
"When you have EA failing to bring Superman out with the movie, that's inexcusable. Moving games like Medal of Honor and Godfather out of the fourth quarter -- that's the old way of thinking and you can't do that any more," he said in a interview with MCV magazine.
It's not just EA that offends War when it comes to slippages, "There's an attitude in this industry that says in order to make a great game, it takes whatever time it takes and it takes whatever money it takes, and that that's okay. Well it's not okay - it's wrong. It's not okay in other entertainment businesses. In other businesses it's big trouble," he stated.
There are two sides to the argument. Would you rather have a game that is potentially sub-standard, but is released on the planned launch date? Or would you prefer to wait until the game is bug free and suitable for release? Whatever the case, you can be rest assured that games will always slip no matter how often we complain.
