INTEL DELIVERS NEW TECHNOLOGY FOR FULL-SIZE NOTEBOOK PCs

SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 11, 2003 -- Intel Corporation today introduced new mobile processors and chipsets for transportable notebook PCs. These systems offer near-desktop features, including high performance, larger screens, full size keyboards and multiple drives.

The new products include the Mobile Intel® Pentium® 4 processor, the Intel® Celeron® processor and the Intel® 852PM and GME chipsets. The Mobile Intel Pentium 4 processor offers frequencies up to 3.06 GHz, power management features that enable lower thermals than its desktop counterpart, along with Intel design guidelines and testing, which enable more reliable system performance.

Notebooks based on the Mobile Intel Pentium 4 processor allow users to take advantage of processor-intensive multimedia applications such as video encoding, digital media and gaming.

When combined with the Mobile Intel Pentium 4 processor, the new chipsets deliver the advantages of Double Data-Rate (DDR) 333 / 266 memory capability at up to 2 GB capacity and support for 533 MHz system buses. The Intel 852GME chipset features Intel® Extreme Graphics 2 technology, which offer realistic 3-D graphics with sharp images.

The Mobile Intel Pentium 4 processor is built on the Intel® NetBurst™ microarchitecture and features a 533 MHz system bus and support for advanced mobile power management including Enhanced Intel® SpeedStep® technology, Deep Sleep and Deeper Sleep.

Additionally, Intel also introduced what are the final speed enhancements for its Mobile Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor – M and the Mobile Intel® Celeron® processor product families.
