Tablet demographics
The survey found 42 percent of people aged over 55 percent have their eye on a tablet as an e-reader with benefits, while perhaps surprisingly around 15 percent of teens up to 17 years of age picked Microsoft as their favourite brand for a tablet, almost three times as many as in the 25-34 year old demographic.
Across the age groups people said access to the web was the most important benefit of a tablet, which the survey believes leave room for savvy manufacturers to get a foothold by creating stronger tie-ups with networks that translates into better total service and package price for consumers.
Interestingly most women are primarily concerned with the cost of a tablet, while men are most swayed by the breadth and quality of its content. It turns out men are more style conscious than women too according to the survey.
