It will be interesting to see how well the handsets sell, given that they will probably only appeal to hardcore Facebook-ers, some of whom are most likely already hooked-up with smartphones to feed their networking habits. Many people might quip- there's already an app for that.

To shed a little more light on the thinking behind the devices, INQ told The Guardian, both phones are "ruthlessly focused" on 18-28 year old Facebook users.

INQ's co-founder Ken Johnstone, told the newspaper: "It was never intended to be a Facebook phone. But Facebook has been very heavily involved with it and it's been a collaborative process."

Apparently it took the firm ‘5 minutes' to decide to go with the Android OS and it thinks waiting a while for various smartphone propositions to emerge before launching its handsets will stand it in good stead.

Johnstone reportedly said: "We think this is the opposite to what everyone else is doing. A lot of Android phones I love but they're all quite complicated, all noise, and very much alike. We wanted to deliver the authentic Facebook experience."

And that seems to say it all- non-Facebookers will struggle to see the appeal of such a handset, but the Cloud Touch will apparently come free with £20 a month contracts, with the pricing of the Cloud Q to be decided.

Here is the spec for INQ Cloud Touch and some images.

This should definitely go under ‘Epic Fail’ thread…
The homescreen is a visual Facebook feed for clicking through friends' updates, pictures, videos and web pages and there are one-touch links to Facebook Chat, Friends, Messages, Wall and Notifications.

I can't think of anything worse :p
Phones nowadays can access facebook. I dont think we need an exclusive phone jsut for facebooking. Clearly tells you how facebook has grown for the past 3 years.
